Can we just take a minute and notice that Damon had given up. He wasn’t fighting Alaric, he was just there, ready to die. But then, he found the strenght to fight back after remembering that he met Elena first? SHE IS HIS STRENGHT. He got up and kicked Alaric’s ass for a few moments. He loves her so much it hurts.
