I’ve been watching a taiwanese drama called In Time With You. I steered around it a few times before when I was searching for stuff to watch because I didn’t like the main actress since she was from another drama I saw a long time ago when she was new and still looked awkward but now she’s pro and became really pretty. The plot is actually so unique. It’s not the typical sappy boy meets girl and fall in love kind of thing but it tells of an unbreakable friendship of 14 years between the guy DaRen and girl YouQing. The main storyline is that he’s been in love with her since high school, but because of a misunderstanding they never got to develop any romance. Afraid of rejection and not wanting to admit his feelings, he basically told her he “couldn’t ever fall in love” with her and she took it very VERY seriously so although they became best friends, they never crossed the line. The drama starts out with YouQing a day away from turning 30, with a nonexistent love life. Even though he tries to confess his feelings to her he fails every time because something always comes in between or there is always a misunderstanding of some sort. Also because he doesn’t really do a good job of it because he’s totally beating around the bush and not being aggressive enough. They decide to make a bet to see who would get married first and so he gets into a relationship with his young coworker who has a crush on him because he thinks he has no chance with YouQing, but she starts getting upset with him and on the surface it seems like she’s just envious that he has someone and she doesn’t, but deep down it’s because she likes him! So a bunch of things happen in between, and they have a falling out and stop speaking to each other. YouQing runs into her ex-bf who was supposed to be “the one”, they broke up because she found out he was unfaithful. When DaRen hears that she gets back with her ex, he tries to stop her and she thinks it’s because he doesn’t want her to be happy with someone like he is with his gf but it really is because he is madly in love with her and hates her ex’s guts. He realizes that he can’t be in a relationship with his gf anymore because he’s lying to both himself and her so he breaks up with her and immerses himself into his job. While YouQing is back with her ex, everything seems to go smoothly. He’s like the “perfect” guy that every girl wants- tall, handsome, rich, romantic, sexy etc. He sweeps her off her feet with his charm and she thinks that it’ll work this time. They get engaged and DaRen is heartbroken so he takes a job transfer to Singapore. Only after he leaves does YouQing find out how he feels about her. She becomes confused because she realizes she does have feelings for DaRen too, but she never let it go any further because of his “I couldn’t ever fall in love with you”. However, she still decides to marry her ex because she thinks he’s what she needs, since he is perfect on paper and she doesn’t want to ruin her friendship with DaRen. But the problem is he doesn’t understand her like DaRen does, he doesn’t do things for her like DaRen does, he’s not there for her like DaRen has been. Seriously the guy is always her knight in shining armor but his actions go unnoticed because he never actively pursued her. Anyway, on the night that YouQing goes to call off the wedding with her ex, she catches him cheating on her with his assistant hoho. This is where I expected her to fly to Singapore and run into DaRen’s arms but instead she flies around the world to travel for 8 months. I hate how it took them so long to be together but they finally do and it’s the sweetest, cutest thing ever how much he cares for her and she realizes that it’s the type of love she needs. They do get married and their first time consummating was so funny yet cute at the same time. DaRen really is a good guy and I couldn’t help thinking the whole time how lucky YouQing is. Moral of the story is the one you crave for and think is right for you might be a big mistake, and the one who’s been around you and knows you more than you know yourself is possibly the one you could spend the rest of your life with. I love when best friends end up together! It was pretty sad towards the middle of the drama because that’s when they stop talking to each other but it gets good again right away. I think the saddest parts were when DaRen was standing out in the rain waiting for her and when was drinking by himself and said that he doesn’t want to tell her how he really feels because he fears he will lose her so he would rather stand aside and watch her be happy. <33333333333333333 selfless love

My friend Tracy told me she would never go to China even though she’s Chinese herself, because she feels that in their country they don’t help out one another but rather look out for themselves because everyone’s just striving to make money and put food on their table, the question about morals and ethics goes unanswered. I did a little Google research and discovered that their education system does not emphasize human rights and compassion. China wants to be unified as a country but it’s only the government, the people are not unified. Obviously I have no deep knowledge about China nor have I ever been there so I don’t have the same perspective as them. China isn’t a third world country, and even though there’s a big cultural difference, humanity should still exist in their society. I know I have no right to judge anyone let alone a whole country, but I’m not. I’m simply just shocked and dumbfounded that something like this can happen in this day and age and in a country that is China. Yes China’s population is humongous, they can’t possibly take care of every single person right? Wrong. You would think that the more people there are the more they would care about each other. Tracy showed me a video clip of a terrible tragedy that happened last year, curse me for not knowing until now, of a 2 yr old being ran over twice with her body left on the street and 18 passerbys who showed no concern. Forgive me this “dumb American” for saying but it’s mind-blowing how those people in the video footage just strutted about, ignoring a toddler laying on the street in her own blood. I don’t care what the reasons are, it’s in fact inhumane and downright despicable. Why am I not more angry at the drivers who ran her over in the first place? I am angry, but there are irresponsible drivers everywhere, but this is the first that I have seen passerbys not giving a flying fuck. Finally only one person was brave enough and human enough to try to help. Had this been an adult, my reaction might not be so strong but I have a 1 yr old cousin and heaven forbid anything like this happen to her, but if it did and no one tried to help her I don’t know what kind of crazy things I’d do. I got into an argument with my bf about this, the location of that specific province in China is his hometown and he said that marketplace where it happened is in a very rural area and the people there don’t even have cellphones, they just mind their own business to take care of their own family and they don’t want to be implicated by helping the girl because they would be blamed for it. It’s the most nonsensical thing I’ve heard but I don’t want to get into it any further. You can watch it here, but I’m warning you it will upset you terribly.
With tears in her eyes and a quivering voice, the mother of a critically injured Chinese toddler left to die in the street after she was run over twice has pleaded with her little girl to get better.
Qu Feifei, the mother of two-year-old Yue Yue - which translates as Little Joy in Chinese - was clearly in emotional agony speaking about her child who has been declared brain dead.
She said she told her girl: ‘Don’t give up on mum, mum is not giving up, let mum have one more chance to love and spoil you.’
She may now face the painful decision of whether to turn off the life support machine keeping her daughter alive.
The Chinese Government’s state news agency Xinhua quoted doctors as saying Yue Yue ‘is in a deep coma and clinically brain dead’.

Her parents, who are poor migrant workers, have been keeping millions informed about their daughter’s condition via a specially created website.

Yesterday they posted that Yue Yue was showing signs of recovery and said medication had been reduced.
Reports claimed her heart beat had stabilised and she had regained the ability to take weak breaths and some feeling in her arms.
But as of Wednesday evening Beijing time, no update had been posted.
There were initial reports this morning that Yue Yue had died, but these appear to be unfounded.

The shocking incident was caught on CCTV and has stunned millions in China, with many saying their society – which has enjoyed 30 years of rapid development – is rotten and immoral.
It also sparked global outrage after more than a dozen people can be seen in the footage walking or driving past the stricken girl as she lay in the street in Foshan city, Guandong province.
Yue Yue was only moved from the road when Chen Xianmei, a street scavenger, stumbles across her.
Chen told reporters: ‘I didn’t think of anything at the time, I just wanted to save the girl.’
The case is quickly becoming a political issue and it is feared Communist Party officials have called for tighter controls over the reporting about the incident for fear of a public backlash.
President Hu Jintao is in his final year of office and his main policy and slogan has been to build a ‘harmonious society’.
But millions are using Yue Yue’s tragedy to highlight all that is wrong with modern China and claim their society is anything but harmonious.
Public anger is festering over rampant corruption in politics and business, lack of the rule of law, pollution that is seeing cancer rates soar and the widening rich-poor gap, with many of the ‘spoilt’ siblings of the political elite – so called princelings – being singled out for extra criticism.
Both drivers who ran over Yue Yue have been arrested, but claimed not to have seen the little girl in the ‘dark’ street.
Chinese media reports that one of the men had allegedly just broken up with his girlfriend and was on his mobile phone when he hit the girl.

The Shanghaiist claims one driver called Yue Yue’s father to offer him money just before he was arrested.
It claims he said: ‘You saw that girl on the CCTV footage, she didn’t see where she was going, you know. I was on the phone when it happened, I didn’t mean it. When I realised I had knocked her down, I thought I’d go down to see how she was.
‘Then when I saw that she was already bleeding, I decided to just step on the gas pedal and escape seeing that nobody was around me.’
Authorities in Foshan presented Chen, who went to Yue Yue’s aid, with $1,570 as a reward. Another company in the city has also offered to donate $7,500 to her family and rescuer.
Many people in China are hesitant to help people who appear to be in distress over fears they will be blamed.
High-profile law suits have ended with good Samaritans ordered to pay hefty fines to individuals they sought to help.
The incident has also sparked a series of soul-searching articles in Chinese newspapers, including the Guangzho Daily and People’s Daily Online.

Tried Ginzaya because they have a large menu of interesting rolls and because a friend of mine has been there and loved it. I wasn’t disappointed. The spicy tuna salad was AMAZing. We also ordered the Albacore Special which was spicy tuna with albacore on top in ponzu sauce, and Tuna Lover which spicy tuna with albacore and tuna tataki and onions on top.
