for those of you on iOS5

i figured out what was killing my battery so fast.

go to Settings > Location Services > System Services on the bottom, turn Status Bar Icon on, and you’ll see the purple GPS icon at the top next to your battery, so basically the whole time your phone has been using the GPS for the location services that’s why its killing the batt. turn off Setting Time Zone and youll notice the GPS icon goes away. then go back to Location Services page and turn off whichever app you want.

i should also mention that turning off iCloud helps.
